The Paikiegha Genealogy

Asiadiri is the father of Paikiegha; and he (Paikiegha) had three sons: Agonodi, Avi and Oyanumua. Avi, one of the three sons of Paikiegha, gave birth to Promise Monday, Yanga, Morris, Philips, Wellington and others.

Oyanumua was married to Akuan. Her father was from Amatolo and her mother was from Foro-Ama in Amassoma. Oyanumua and Akuan only had one son whose name was Doubou.

Not too long after the birth of their only child, Oyanumua died and his wife (Akuan) was inherited by his brother Avi, as tradition demanded in those days.

Avi would later go ahead to have a child with his late brother’s wife. However, the child died at Ogobiri and this made Avi very angry. He couldn't understand why she would take their child to a strange land. And since he couldn't bring himself to forgive her of this great sin, he pushed her out of his house.

Akuan took her only child Doubou to Agorogbene where she later met a man called Bagou. They soon got married and gave birth to several children. Two of which were Lion and Regent.

It is worthy to note at this junction that Doubou is not from Agorogbene, but was only taken there as a child by his mother. And by virtue of her marriage to Bagou, a man from Agorogbene, Doubou now had siblings over there.

Doubou grew into a man at Agorogbene and later got married to a woman from there called Arewerinana. They gave birth to Oyele, Smith, and also a girl who died at infantry.

Doubou also got married to another woman in his father's hometown, Amassoma. The woman's name is Janet from Okoloba-Ama. He had three sons with Janet: George Paikiegha, Godfrey Paikiegha and Kanos Paikiegha.

Doubou would continue to shuttle between Agorogbene and Amassoma because of his wives and children who both resided at Agorogbene and Amassoma respectively.

He (Doubou) later fell sick and subsequently died in Agorogbene. He was brought to Amassoma for burial in then Sadema-Ama, now Ebilade-Ama.

It is worthy to point-out that at the time of Doubou’s death, all his children except his last son Kanos Paikiegha were at Lagos. A young man at the time, Kanos would transport his father's body from Agorogbene to Amassoma through canoe. He successfully buried his father at Amassoma all by himself.

The three sons Doubou had with Janet were George, Godfrey and Kanos. George died and was buried in Lagos. He had three daughters: Timpa, Mary and Priye. Godfrey died and was also buried in Lagos. He had no children. Kanos died on the 26th July, 2021 and was buried in Amassoma. He had 11 children. The mother of eight of his children is Bulunbele from Ogugu’s family at Ogbopina-Ama in Amassoma. They gave birth to Alex, Evelyn, Peter, Tare, Pereyi, Ebiere, Israel and Patience. He also had three children with his Yoruba wife. They are: Momotomi, Pere and Ebi.
