In advanced countries, they create blueprints and build things based on those blueprints. In Nigeria, we attempt things and try to get it to fit into some kind of blueprint. Absurd right?

The white man isn't wiser than us, he is just more strategic in his approach to life. The white man isn't more intelligent than us, he's only more diligent. And he is certainly not more blessed than us, only more resourceful and creative.

In case you haven't noticed, we're a very religious people! We pray when we should be working, and work when we ought to be thinking. Indeed, if prayer is what makes a great nation — Nigeria would be the richest country on earth!

So does that mean we shouldn't pray? Of course not! However, the white man's formula for success is, pray less, work more, think most!

Hope Is Not A Strategy

We are too happy as a people! I know that may sound odd, considering the fact that I'm a strong advocate for happiness, but please hear me out. I'm not really against our being happy, but rather the source of that happiness.

The average Nigerian is too comfortable with present realities and thereby satisfied in his current state. We all know that one great catalyst for change is dissatisfaction with ones present conditions.

No water nor electricity, but he is fine. The government is corrupt, it doesn't bother him.  The roads are a death trap, he continues to smile. His children go-to school in a dilapidated building, "the Lord is their shepherd" he says. He is afraid to protest, to revolt, to speak up. After all, he thinks he's got a great life; he has too much to lose; he's afraid to die. How pathetic!

Also, another reason why the average Nigerian man is unnecessarily happy is because we're a very hopeful people. Most Nigerians would rather hope for a safe trip or job interview rather than take responsibility to prepare. Seriously, when did hope become a strategy?

We are a people with million dollars dreams and a minimum wage work ethic. We enthrone mediocrity over meritocracy! In politics, we chose our leaders based on propaganda rather than competence and character. That's why someone can be a convicted criminal today, and be elected into public office tomorrow! It's all in the packaging.

The Bible says "your old men shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions". Sadly, our country is being run by old men with nothing but mere dreams; while the young ones are left to waste away! Then what's the use of the slogan "Not too young to run" when the agbayas' have refuse to let go of power? There are rumours circulating the air that Tinubu would be running for president in 2023; my God are you f*** kidding me! But then again, in a country where the youths are busy dancing zanku and tweeting about BBNaija — what do you expect?
